About Urban Blazers

Urban Blazers is a non-profit organization that provides unique opportunities for physical activity and education, contact with nature, and social connection to promote the healthy development of underserved youth in Philadelphia.

UB aims to positively impact underserved youth and the greater Philadelphia community with out of school time programs that 1) aid its participants in improving fitness and reducing obesity, 2) foster mental health by increasing self-esteem and confidence, 3) decrease school drop-out rates by cultivating a respect for intellectual values, 4) support environmental conservation efforts through the development of a respect for nature, and 5) provide a safe environment in which underserved youth cultivate a social awareness that impels them to action. Each of UB's current services is conceived in support of the ultimate goal of cultivating in its participants invaluable life skills.
